The Purchase Request Module is a simple, yet effective real-time method for initiating demands for parts and services throughout the business operations. These demands are immediately presented to Purchasing Agents in the form of Requests for Parts or Services. Technicians do not have to leave the work area to look up part numbers, vendors, availability, develop lists of parts for Purchasing Agents, or communicate work order needs in redundant or error-prone ways. If the complete capabilities of the Work Order Module are coupled with the Part/Service Request Module, Part and Service demands can be staged well in advance of the start of the job.

The Request can be created from within the Work Order, linking it to a specific Work Order Discrepancy. The Purchase Order that is subsequently generated to fill the Request continues that link. Requests can also be created outside of Work Orders by anyone within the company who has responsibility for sending rotable parts and other parts needing services to outside vendors, creating and stocking new inventory lines, replenishing general inventory, or maintaining miscellaneous business or office supplies. Literally anything can be requested via a Request, including Requests for Services that need to be performed in- house, such as X-rays, windshield buffing, aircraft detailing, or other specialized service.

An important feature of the Purchase Request Module is the Min/Max Inventory feature. By setting up inventory quantity controls, such as minimums for stock items, the Purchase Request Module can automatically generate requests when part quantities hit or go below the desired minimum level.
